How to Switch from an Android to an iPhone: A Guide for Beginners

Some people love Android because of the plethora of customization options and you can change your phone’s custom setting to suit your needs. Others like the iPhone for its sleek design and tight integration with Apple products. Not to mention that iPhones are easier to repair than most Android devices when something goes wrong and they tend to be more secure than other devices on the market. But how could you switch from one to another?
Once you’ve decided who you want to buy from and got your preferred handset, you have to transfer all the contacts from your old phone. The old phone is usually a smart phone, like an iPhone or Android device; though there are also some simple smartphones out there. There are also some feature phones that have a SIM card slot for transferring data.
If you have an iPhone, rather than doing it manually one phone at a time (that would be too time consuming) we can do the transfer remotely using Your Phone Remote app. It’s an app that fetches all the information from a phone and transfers it to the other one for you. To do this, you pick up either the old or new phone, place it down on a table and start the process by opening “Your Phone Remote” on your computer.
The second window you see is your old phone, you tap on its name and then tap “Start Transfer”. Your iPhone will be syncing with Your Phone Remote at all times in the background. You’ll see a progress bar on the screen that shows how far along the process is. Once you have finished this, you can pick up your new phone or old phone and walk through the OS setup with your new or old phone safely put away.

The best way to switch is by using your old phone’s memory. If you have an Android device, but you want to switch over to an iPhone, then there’s no easy way to do it without a lot of hassle. Although you can use Google Play to transfer all your pictures and videos, you may end up spending a lot of time figuring out how to do it. You could also use iCloud Music Library to download your music and playlists from your old phone, but that would only work if the device’s memory can be restored on an iPhone. There are a few third-party apps available in the Android Play Store that will allow you to “trick” your device into thinking that it’s an iPhone so that you can sync up some data. You can also transfer your contacts and messages from the old device to the new one in iTunes, but that would require the use of a PC. With this in mind, we present an alternative solution that does not involve any third-party apps at all.
iPhone users can’t syncrhonize their devices with Android devices by using their iTunes accounts. However, you can easily keep track of multiple phones and transfer data without ever having to use iTunes or connecting your phone to a computer. Pretty cool, right?

Download iStonsoft Android Assistant, a free data recovery software that is compatible with any iPhone. The app will scan your Android phone for all the files stored in its memory drive. All you need to do is click on the ones you want to recover (settings, photos, videos, etc) and it will display in a window. Once you’ve selected all the files that can be salvaged, click “Recover” and save them on your computer. The process could take a while depending on how many files are found during the scan.
For Mac users this article also includes an alternative solution using Recoverit data recovery software which is compatible with both Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
1. The first step is to connect your Android device to a PC. You can do this by plugging it into the USB cable or via Bluetooth connection. The best way is with a direct physical connection because the Android operating system may not be able to detect the phone properly and consequently, will not allow you to use it for data extraction.

Your best bet would be to use iStonsoft Android Assistant on your old Android device and have it back up all your pictures, music, contacts and other data. After doing so, you would then proceed to restore only that data on your new Cricket phone using the app. This way you can save a lot of time and effort switching from one device to another. Here’s how to do it:
1. Download the iStonsoft Android Assistant app from the Google Play store by following this link: https://ift.tt/cK1iW8Z
2. Open the app and tap on “Backup” to check if you have any data on your device that you can restore after switching from Cricket to a new one because the app backs up your phone’s data automatically. If you do, go ahead and hit “Install”.
3. Go to “Settings” and select “Backup”.
4. In here you can see all the apps that have been installed on your device and enable or disable them as needed. Tap on the “Restore” option and choose one of your previous backups from the list.
