Retailers can use RF tags for both in-store locations and online shopping. For in-store use, RF tags are placed by registers or at key points within the store; for online shopping, RF tags are placed at strategic locations on the website.
Security tags are very adaptable and have a long life expectancy. They can be read from over 1,000 feet away, which minimizes the chances of poor accuracy or non-readability by staff. The tags are extremely small and unobtrusive, making them ideal for use in stores that are high-traffic and crowded. Security tags work with most major retailing software systems and can automatically update purchase data and communication with inventory control systems. That means that retailers can have more accurate data, in real time, from their stores.

No one wants to go back to school after the holiday break and find out he’s been expelled. However, that is exactly what happened to a man who lives in Kansas. On Wednesday, Dec. 2, the Paris-Mesa Unified School District (PMUSD) student was arrested for bringing dozens of iTunes gift cards into school on Friday, Nov. 27. The cards contained fraudulent information pertaining to the phone number and PIN numbers used on each card. One of the cards was used at a Target store in San Diego. As a result, he was banned from all District schools and had his cell phone confiscated. The incident happened while he was in the bathroom, said Principal Debra Jackson.”
The thief is said to have stolen $300 in iTunes cards from multiple different schools as well as $100 from the Target store in San Diego, California. Police are investigating the incident and are planning on filing additional charges related to criminal damages. The student is currently being held at Cleveland County Juvenile Detention Center in Oklahoma City.

What does it mean to remove security tags from clothing? It means you can sneak something that you didn’t pay for into target. Before you go shopping, plan your game. This is important because if you are caught, you will want to be prepared for that. Also, avoid any stores that constantly check receipts and question customers about the security of their purchases. Once you reach the store, find a way to ditch those pesky tags before transaction time. The most common method involves the use of tape or some other adhesive material. When looking for the security tags, try to get as close as possible to the clothing. Use your fingers to lift a corner of the garment and check for the tag. If you can’t see it, use your fingernail to break the seal created between the tape and the fabric. Buy some scissors if you can’t find them in the store. Also, remember that some products have more areas where tags can hide than others.
