How to Use the LG Transfer Tool – PC Version
This tool will allow you to easily transfer files from your phone to your SD card. However, you should be aware that this tool will not allow you to move apps or games from your internal memory (ROM) to the SD card.
This tool works for almost all models of LG phones with Android 4.4.2 or lower. Once the app is moved to your SD card, it can be accessed without using the tool again. If you have an LG phone with Android 5 or later, please see LG Bridge / SmartShare / Content Transfer instead
Downloading and installing the LG Transfer Tool:
Download LGTransfer_VX8500XXU1BPB6_TOOL_1327334514.zip from the links below. Unzip it and move the file “LGTOOL_1327334514.exe” to your phone’s internal storage (ROM).
NOTE: If you are running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, you may need to manually update your phone’s drivers to support the LG Tool app. Follow the steps below:

How to Use the LG Transfer Tool – Mobile Version
a. Download and Install the LG Transfer Tool on your PC, Android device or tablet using the link provided below: PC version | Mobile Version
b. Enable USB debugging on your device and connect to PC using the same process as in step a.
c. On your PC, open up the Transfer Tool application, click on “Commands,” then type in: “LGSetStorage SD”. This will switch storage from internal memory to sd card.
d. Your phone will power off once finished, so wait 10 seconds and then reboot.
Note: If you get a “Cannot mount device” error, try connecting your device to PC again, then open up the Transfer Tool and use the “Unlock Device” command.
e. Your phone should now be operating on the sd card, but if it isn’t, try using another command like “LGSetStorage xx” (where xx is 1-64/128). This will set your phone as internal storage. To switch back to the sd card use “LGSetStorage xxx”.
Troubleshooting Tips for Your Phone’s USB Drive & SD Card Location
b. If your phone’s SD card already has a lot of music, photos or videos stored on it, and you don’t have time to remove the files from your SD card, we recommend that you transfer files from the phone to your PC. After you have transferred all of the files from the internal memory (ROM) to your PC, then copy those same files from your PC to your SD card using the mobile version of the tool.
Please note that we only recommend this option if you have a lot of data stored on your SD card and do not have time to remove the files.
a. If you are using the mobile version of the LG phone tool (LG PC Suite), then use your phone’s USB cable to connect your phone to your PC, then select and run the tool named “LG Phone Tools.”
b. If your phone’s SD card already has a lot of music, photos or videos stored on it, then use your PC’s USB cable to connect your phone to your PC.
