Possible Causes of a Slow Turn-On Time

These are the things that might cause your TV to take a long time to turn on, and what you can do about them. Turn-on time for a TV can be anywhere from around 15 seconds to about 8 minutes, depending on how old the TV is, how good it is, what was done to it and what was done by the person doing the repair.

Possible Solutions to a Slow Turn-On Time

So why does a TV take a long time to turn on? What causes the problem? And what can you do about it? One potential cause of a slow turn-on time is that the TV’s power supply or power circuit (see diagram below) may not be working properly. That means the TV won’t be able to get enough current to turn on, and everything else in the TV will have to try harder to make up for it.
